About This Game

Sunset Riders is Konami's technicolour western run-and-gun. Four bounty hunters — Steve, Bob, Billy and the poncho-swinging Cormano — chase the Cormano gang's bounty list across saloons, stagecoach chases and moving trains, diving between cover while the game auto-aims your six-shooter at the nearest threat.

The auto-aim system is the genius of it: no manual aiming, just positioning and trigger discipline. Weapon pickups upgrade you to a shotgun or machine gun, dual-wield pickups double your output, and the four-player cabinet turned it into one of Konami's best social arcade games — chaotic, funny and famously generous with its western movie homages.

  • Four bounty hunters with distinct speeds and weapons
  • Auto-aim shooting that rewards positioning over reflexes
  • Shotgun, machine gun and dual-wield pickups
  • Stage set-pieces: stagecoaches, moving trains and saloon shoot-outs

Tips & Strategy

Positioning is your aiming

Because the gun auto-aims, standing one tile higher or lower than an enemy decides whether your shots connect. Move vertically to match targets instead of spamming fire from a bad angle.

Use cover before every duel

Barrels, doors and windows block bullets. Enemy ninjas-and-bandits telegraph with a pre-shot pause — pop out, fire, duck back in. Trading shots in the open is the fastest way to lose lives.

Cormano is worth learning

Cormano's spread gun clears crowds but has short range. He rewards aggressive play — dash into mid-range and unload, then back off while the screen resets.

Four players: assign the lanes

With four bounty hunters on screen the chaos is the fun, but assign two players to lead the scroll and two to cover rear spawns. It turns a coin-munching gauntlet into a clean run.
