The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an open-world action RPG developed and published by CD PROJEKT RED, released on May 18, 2015. Players take the role of Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster hunter searching for his adopted daughter Ciri while the otherworldly Wild Hunt closes in. The game is known for its branching quests, two large paid expansions (Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine) and the Complete Edition bundle. A free next-generation update in December 2022 added ray tracing, DLSS, photo mode and quests inspired by the Netflix series, and the official REDkit modding tools plus Steam Workshop support followed in 2024.

Yes. Owners of the base game on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S received the next-generation update free of charge in December 2022. It adds ray tracing, DLSS, photo mode and new quests.
