Elden Ring: Nightreign Gets Update 1.23 for Online Security

Elden Ring: Nightreign has been updated to version 1.23 (version 1.003.004 on PlayStation 5), a maintenance patch released on 18 September 2026 across PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The update reinforces the game's online security protocols and network stability rather than adding content — there are no new bosses, areas or balance changes.

The patch follows The Forsaken Hollows, the game's first major expansion, which launched on 4 December 2025 and introduced the Shifting Earth mechanic along with the Scholar and Undertaker classes. Character balance was last addressed significantly in patch 1.03.2 on 15 January 2026.

Nightreign is a standalone session-based co-op roguelike set in the Elden Ring universe rather than an expansion to the 2022 base game. Because its runs depend on a stable connection, FromSoftware has prioritised network fixes over new content in recent patches.
