Hogwarts Legacy Sales Pass 40 Million Ahead of Sequel

Hogwarts Legacy has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide, according to figures reported alongside Warner Bros.' confirmation of a sequel. The game shifted 12 million copies in its first two weeks and passed $1 billion in revenue shortly after launch, going on to become the publisher's best-selling title and the first non-Call of Duty or Rockstar game to top the annual sales chart since 2009.

Warner Bros. has named the Hogwarts Legacy franchise as one of four core intellectual properties valued above $1 billion, and says it expects its games segment to contribute more meaningfully to profitability as the pipeline expands.

The original remains available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch, with the sequel — developed by Avalanche Software — yet to receive a release window.
