About This Game

Alien vs. Predator is the CPS-2 beat 'em up where the aliens swarm by the dozens. Major Dutch Schaefer, Linn Kurosawa and two Predator warriors fight through a xenomorph-infested San Drad, and the game is remembered for its sheer spectacle: acid-blood splatter, dropship set-pieces, alien queens, and bosses that fill the screen.

Underneath the spectacle it is one of Capcom's mechanically deepest brawlers. Grab combos, air juggles, a dash cancel and the Predator's energy weapon all give it real combo depth, and the difficulty escalates properly — the alien hordes genuinely swarm, so crowd control is a skill you learn or you keep feeding credits.

  • Four playable characters: two Predators, Dutch and Linn
  • Massive alien swarms with acid-blood splash damage
  • Dash cancels and air juggles — unusually deep combo tech for the genre
  • Spectacular CPS-2 set-pieces and gigantic boss creatures

Tips & Strategy

Never let aliens surround you

The swarm hits from both sides simultaneously. Keep moving with dash attacks so the horde forms a line behind you instead of a circle around you.

Juggle facehuggers out of the air

Facehuggers leap from every direction and are the most dangerous enemy per hit. A rising attack as they leap — or a well-timed air attack — wipes them before they latch on.

The Predator's plasma cannon is your nuke

The Predators' energy weapon shreds mid-bosses and queens. It overheats rather than running out, so burst it, let it vent, and burst again instead of holding the trigger.

Co-op: Predators take point

In three-player games the Predators' reach and tankiness should lead the charge while Linn's speed handles flanks. Everyone should save their health items for the queen fights.
