About This Game

Rampage is the monster-movie fantasy as a game: up to three players pick George the gorilla, Lizzie the lizard or Ralph the wolf and spend the whole game demolishing cities - punching buildings into rubble, swatting helicopters, eating civilians, and moving west across North America one smashed skyline at a time.

The destruction has real mechanics under the comedy. Buildings are floor-by-floor structures you climb and dismantle, and they fight back: windows open with shooters, the military escalates from cops to army to tanks to helicopters as the day count rises, and your monster has a health bar drained by everything - hits, falls, even overeating. Eating restores it, which turns every stage into a rhythm of smash, snack, dodge the army, climb the next tower. The 768-day campaign was enormous for 1986, the three-player simultaneous mode was a rarity, and the movie-license energy is genuine rather than borrowed - it is blatantly Godzilla and King Kong, played for laughs, and it works.

  • Three-player simultaneous monster mayhem (gorilla, lizard, wolf)
  • Floor-by-floor building demolition with counterattacks from windows
  • A full 768-day cross-country campaign of city destruction
  • Eat-to-heal system - punching, falling and overeating all cost health

Tips & Strategy

Eat early, eat often

Health drains constantly. Fruit and civilians found in rubble are the heal system - grabbing them between punches is the survival loop.

Punch at window height

Shooters appear in specific floor rows. Punching the row just as windows open clears threats before they fire.

Jump off buildings deliberately

Falling costs a sliver of health but crosses the stage fast. Controlled drops beat walking across a shelled street.

In 3P mode split the tower

Three monsters on one building tear floors from both sides. Assigning sides doubles clear speed and thins return fire.
