Monster Hunter Wilds is an action RPG developed and published by CAPCOM, released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on February 28, 2025. It pushes the series toward seamless environments: the Forbidden Lands cycle between the harsh Fallow and the resource-rich Plenty, and monsters behave differently as conditions change, so hunts are shaped by the world rather than by loading screens. It is the first mainline entry with cross-platform play across PC, PlayStation and Xbox, keeps all 14 weapon types with the new Focus Mode mechanics, and runs on the RE Engine with DirectStorage support. CAPCOM has continued to release performance patches and post-launch content updates for the PC version since launch.
