Monster Hunter: World Overview
Monster Hunter: World is an action RPG developed and published by CAPCOM, released on PC on August 8, 2018. Players become a Hunter in the New World, tracking monsters across large open maps and crafting weapons and armour from the parts they carve, across 14 weapon types with distinct movesets. The game is built around four-player online co-op and a deep progression loop. The Iceborne expansion (2019 on consoles, January 2020 on PC) added Master Rank, new monsters and the Hoarfrost Reach region. It is CAPCOM's best-selling title.

Monster Hunter: World FAQ
QDo I need the Iceborne expansion?
Iceborne is a paid expansion that continues the story with Master Rank, new monsters and the Hoarfrost Reach. It is not required to finish the base game, but it roughly doubles the available content.
QCan Monster Hunter: World be played solo?
Yes. Every quest can be completed solo, and monster health scales when other players join.
QIs Monster Hunter: World mod-friendly?
The PC version has an active modding community focused on cosmetics, UI and quality-of-life changes. CAPCOM does not officially support mods, and mods that affect other players should be avoided in multiplayer sessions.
QHow much storage does it need?
52 GB of available space according to the official system requirements.
QWhat is the difference between World and Rise?
World focuses on large, detailed ecosystems and is the best-selling entry in the series; Rise is a later Switch-first title with faster, more vertical combat. Both are available on PC.
